I Love the Smell of Napalm in the Morning
– Lieutenant Colonel Bill Kilgore (Robert Duvall), Apocalypse Now
Can you recall an ad, a slogan, a phrase, a movie quote, a line from a song, or another form of copy that stuck with you way beyond your first time reading or hearing it?
That’s the power of great copy: memorable, influential, emotional, and hopefully entices you to take some sort of action…which could also be singing out loud.
And I absolutely adore great copy!
Great copy can come from anywhere, sticks in my mind for a long time, inspires in one way or another, and challenges me to come up with great copy of my own.
Certain copy makes me smile or laugh, while there is some copy that makes me sad, thoughtful, or even angry (which may be its actual purpose or call to action).
Can you think of any slogan or memorable copy that comes to mind immediately?
